This state-of-the-art building has allowed us to add capacity and capabilities to satisfy growth in a variety of markets and enhance our position as a leading worldwide supplier of optical filters for scientific research and instrumentation. We have the capability to provide comprehensive filter solutions—including optical design, manufacturing, and measurement services with in-house vacuum coating, glass fabrication, spectroscopy, and optics as well as the design, manufacturing, and integration of optical sub-assemblies. Our new facility, designed from the ground-up specifically for the manufacture of optical filters, has provided us with the opportunity to plan every step of the manufacturing process for efficient flow. In addition, we have made major capital equipment improvements resulting in increased capacity and capabilities. The resulting quality improvements and cost-savings of all of these changes are passed on to our customers. Major equipment purchases have been made in the area of coating capacity and technology, clean-room capable work and processing areas, and CNC metal machining. All of these upgrades in manufacturing equipment are intended to complement and improve the leading technology position that Omega already occupies in the optical filter industry. Omega is seeking LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for its new facility, which is the first building on the Delta Campus, a 137 acre site planned to include a unique combination of business and residential uses. The Master Plan for the Campus includes seven “high information technology” businesses, an educational institution, and forty residential units.
