In 1975, the company -- then part of J.P. Stevens & Co. -- entered the pond and pit lining business with a reinforced, Hypalon-based containment membrane. A few years later, as Stevens Roofing Systems - a business unit of JPS Elastomerics, a division of JPS Industries, Inc., we began manufacturing commercial roofing membranes. On July 1st, 2008 Stevens Roofing Systems -- with more than 140 years of combined rubber compounding experience -- became Dow Roofing Systems, a fully owned subsidiary of Dow Chemical Corporation. Dow Geomembranes (www.dowgeomembranes.com) is the Worlds Leading Manufacturer of Polypropylene and Hypalon Geomembranes for use as liners, floating covers, baffles, mining heap leach pads, canal liners, agriculture waste liners and landfill covers among other critical containment applications.
