This strategy is driven in part by the continued growth and consolidation of the metals service center industry. The Company seeks businesses that are strategically positioned to diversify or enhance its customer base, product breadth and geographic coverage. The Company has successfully completed over 40 acquisitions since its 1994 IPO. Reliance is also expanding its facilities and product offerings in several of its existing geographic locations while penetrating new markets for its products. Our 2008 consolidated net income was $482.8 million, an increase of 18%, compared with net income of $408.0 million in 2007. Earnings per diluted share were $6.56 for 2008, compared with earnings of $5.36 per diluted share for the year 2007. Our 2008 consolidated net sales were $8.72 billion, an increase of 20%, compared with $7.26 billion in 2007.
