Today, Carlisle is a major supplier to companies making products ranging from mining equipment to washing machines to RVs to elevators. Carlisle Industrial Brake & Friction is comprised of two divisions, each with an area of specialization, but reliant upon the other for expertise and technical support. We are uniquely positioned as a complete solution provider through our understanding of both the mechanical side of braking and the material capabilities of friction. Brake Products Group The Brake Products Group produces complete brake systems that extend from the foot pedal through hydraulic actuation to the brake. Our range of brake products includes service, park, emergency, full circle and hydrostatic motor brakes, as well as hydraulic valves, actuators and trailer brake actuators. Expanded Brake Offering Carlisle has strengthened its leadership position in the off-highway braking market with its acquisition of the assets of ArvinMeritor, Inc.s off-highway business located in York, SC and Cwmbran, South Wales, U.K. This acquisition will enable us to provide an even broader line of products and enhanced technical support to our key customers. Industrial Friction Group Carlisle Industrial Friction Group formulates and manufactures a diverse array of non-asbestos friction materials for both braking and clutch applications. We produce wet discs and plates, disc pads, molded linings, flat sheets, extruded coils, lining segments and geartooth facings. These friction materials are used in off-highway vehicles, industrial equipment, lawn and garden equipment, and consumer appliances. Design Solutions It is common that new OEM engineering projects for on/off-highway vehicles and industrial equipment require a new brake or friction design. Carlisle has established a design and development process to streamline and optimize the design and manufacture of a new brake or friction product.
