The first system, the Naudic iCVT, employs a unique synchronisation concept to allow small incremental ratio shifts with full mechanical positive drive at all times. Providing multiple ratios, the second system, the Naudic rotorCVT, is a two-stage parallel machine, incorporating "ratcheting technology" to eliminate point contact stresses and rippled output associated with conventional ratcheting CVTs.
