Substantial licence fee income from his inventions and his determination in managing the development of new ideas from within his own firm provided the startup capital for the consulting programme covering applied electrical technology. 1957 Instrumentation and Control Techniques as specialist field: Design and Development of process controls and instrumentation, incl. vacuum drum dryers for granules. 1960 Patent for ?Lumiglas? - luminaire?: an inspection glass luminaire with unique features and practical advantages lays the foundation stone for the Lumiglas? division. 1975 BRAILLEX?, development of a storage and retrieval system for Braille and speech for the blind – a world first – sets the course for Reha division.
