Klaus Krieger was engaged in wind turbine development and international implementation of wind energy projects. Martin van Egeren as a mechanical engineer was working on wind turbine design and development of rural electrification systems using renewable energy. Joint projects, among other things, were planning and implementation of wind turbines in Europe, wind energy systems for village electrification, telecommunication and farms in China and Indonesia as well as extensive technology transfer projects. Beside own development projects orders for institutions and companies were accomplished, among others for: aerodyn Energiesysteme GmbH, Rendsburg Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ), Eschborn Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR), Bonn Cenova Lda, Portugal Greenpeace, Hamburg Hua De New Technology Company, China Institut für Solare Energieversorgungstechnik (ISET), Kassel Shell Solar SMA Regelsysteme GmbH, Kassel In the year 2000 they started the development of a professional small wind generator, whose design concept also provides a basis for a line of further models in the 750 W and 1500 W class. For manufacture and marketing of the wind generators they founded a new business and incorporated the superwind GmbH in early 2004.
