Company renamed "Gebr. Schmidt Gummiwarenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG". 2011: The company celebrates its 100th anniversary. 2003: Incorporation of the production of silicone rubber compounds. 1998: Initial certification of our company in compliance with Quality Management Standard DIN EN ISO 9001. 1990: Wulf Müller is appointed Managing Partner and runs the company until his death in 2011. 1980er to 90er: Manufacture of technical molded rubber products for respiration technology, electrical engineering, medical technology, and mechanical engineering. 1950er to 70er: These years are particularly shaped by the development and manufacture of nearly all types of rubber. In the following decades we refine our product range as a result of continuous market-oriented innovations, which secure our high quality standards. 1967: Werner Müller, son-in-law of Robert Schmidt, is appointed Managing Partner and Managing Director after Schmidt’s death, where he remains until 1990. 1962: Wolfgang Schmidt, son of Arthur Schmidt, joins the company after training at the Phoenix rubber works in Hamburg-Harburg and study abroad in Limoges/France, and is appointed Joint Proxy in 1967. 1946: Incorporation of the production of printing matrixes and rubber stamps. By order of the British military authorities, the production of condoms is launched. As a sign of regional loyalty and proximity to the Schwinge River, our brand is named: “SWING”. 1942: Arthur Schmidt passes away. Robert Schmidt, brother of the founder, is his successor. Conversion of the company into a limited partnership "Gebr. Schmidt Gummiwarenfabrik KG". 1930er and 40er: Extensive development and production of molded rubber parts. 1923: Incorporation of the development and manufacture of high-grade synthetic resins. 1922: Company renamed "Schmidts Gummiwarenfabrik, Arthur Schmidt Aktiengesellschaft". 1916: Relocation to the company premises in Freiburger Strasse. Start of production of bicycle and automobile tires. 1911: Arthur Schmidt founds the vulcanizing works "Schmidts Gleitschutzfabrik und Dampfvulkanisieranstalt" in Stade, Niedersachsen. He offers car and bicycle tire repairs at the Fischmarkt.
