As early as in 1928 the Apparate-Werke Berlin had a staff of about 4000. At the end of World War Two the enterprise was made a Soviet-owned public limited company. In 1948 the company was renamed Elektro-Apparate-Werke Berlin (EAW). In the period from 1948 to 1989 EAW were one of the largest enterprises of electrical industry. 1990 saw the conversion from the nationally-owned company into a limited company called Elektro-Apparate-Werke Berlin GmbH. In 1993 Elektro-Apparate-Werke Berlin GmbH were transformed to private ownership with the former units of the company being newly founded as independent small and medium-sized enterprises, one of which is EAW Relaistechnik GmbH. The foundation of these enterprises enabled the ongoing reorganization and reconstruction process to yield good results. Based on innovations in development and manufacture, highly motivated qualified staff are creating new products ready for the markets.EAW Today Effective on 01.09.2003, EAW Relaistechnik GmbH has formed a partnership with the US company
