The main purpose of Roland Electronic GmbH was the development and manufacture of siren control and fire alarm systems.The reduction in Cold War tension gradually reduced the need for siren alarm systems. As a consequence the company ventured into industrial electronics with new products such as sensors and control systems for the packaging industry as well as double sheet detectors and sheet thickness measurement instruments. After the sale of Roland Sirenbau GmbH and the untimely death of the founder, Mr. Horst Nauditt, Mrs. Barbara Nauditt assumed leadership of the business and stressed the development of an international sales network. Later Mr. Fred Goronzy joined the organization as Principal and President and continued to emphasize the development of new products. The newly developed weld seam detector for tubes entered the market at a time, when more and more tubes were being formed into automotive components. In addition, the steelcord inspection system SIS for quality assurance of steel belted radial tires was accepted by important domestic and foreign tire manufacturers. In 1996 Roland Industrial Electronics, L.P. was founded in Cleveland, USA, to better serve the North American continent and Mexico. In the same year the quality assurance system was certified according to ISO 9001. After many years of successful entrepreneurship Mrs. Nauditt went into her well deserved retirement and Mr. Ralf Wilms joined the company as a new Principal. In the 2003 the new Technical Manager Mr. Dipl.-Ing. Joachim Manz also acquired an interest in the company. From modest beginnings the company is now is a technology leader in its chosen fields of activity.
