In 1932, the company founder, Max Weishaupt, laid the foundation stone for his company with a mechanical engineering workshop in Schwendi. Production of Weishaupts first oil burner began there in 1952. Sales soared and the number of employees at the Schwendi factory rose rapidly. Today, Weishaupt is a globally active company with more than 2,800 employees. Research and production are still carried out in Schwendi. Max Weishaupts mechanical engineering workshop has become an impressive plant covering more than 65,000 m2. In spite of this, Weishaupt has remained a family concern. Today it is managed by a second generation – the founder´s son, Siegfried Weishaupt Dipl.-Ing.
