Our products and services shall fulfil our customer expectations well. We intend to keep our premium position in the industry. We must therefore continually improve our skills and working methods, so we can outperform our competitors. To achieve this, our leadership is focused on common values, principles and working methods. Core values Scania’s identity is shaped by values, principles and working methods - in addition to the company’s products – vehicles, services and customer financing. Three core values customer first, respect for the individual and quality form the basis of both Scania’s corporate culture and its business behaviour. Scania’s managers and other employees focus their efforts on the needs and activities of customers. They do so by focusing on the value chain – from development work via production and sales to customer finance and servicing of vehicles while they are in operation. By viewing the business over a vehicle’s entire life cycle Scania employees also create a close contact with each customer. Our operations are founded on an integrated product concept that combines vehicles, services and financing. Through our collective knowledge in these fields, we continuously strive to fulfil our customers expectations to improve their profitability. This is the way we build the long-term, trusting and profit-making relationships that develop into mutual partnership. Products Scania designs its products to have the lowest possible impact on the environment. They are optimised to consume less energy, raw materials and chemicals during their life cycle and to be recyclable. Vehicles Scania develops, manufactures and sells trucks with a gross vehicle weight of more than 16 tonnes (Class 8), intended for long-distance haulage, regional and local distribution of goods as well as construction haulage. Scania’s bus range is concentrated on bus chassis, intended for use in tourist coaches as well as urban and intercity traffic. Scania’s industrial and marine engines are used in generator sets and in earthmoving and agricultural machinery, as well as on board ships and pleasure crafts. Service-related products An important part of Scania’s offering is service-related products. For example parts and workshop services in the form of maintenance and repairs. The customer can also choose different forms of service and maintenance contracts. Customer financing Scania provides its customers with various forms of financing solutions, for example leases or hire/purchase contracts.
