For example, all our harnesses have fixed D-ring on the back which prevents the harness from ending up around the users neck in the case of a fall. All our products are approved according to the existing requirements and standards. There is a difference between fall protection and support equipment. Support equipments consists of products designed to provide support and prevent a fall. Included here are support belts, support lanyards, etc. (Standards EN 358, EN 813). Fall protection equipment is used when there exists a risk for a free-fall. The equipment should prevent a free-fall, and in the event of a fall catch the person so as to avoid injury. Included here are full body harnesses, fall arresters, runners/trolleys on stationary or flexible lines, etc (Standards EN361, EN354, EN353-1, EN353-2, EN355, EN360, EN362) According to EN 365:1992, fall protection equipment and support equipment should be inspected at least once every twelve months. The inspection should be carried out by a "competent person" who is certified by the products manufacturer. If the equip- ment is exposed to a lot of wear and tear, then it should be inspected more oten. Ask where you purchased your equipment for someone who can conduct an inspection. Each user is also responsible to checking the equipment before using it.
