Advanced composites combine the properties of different materials to create an end product that features significant performance advantages over traditional materials such as wood, steel or aluminium. Typically the arrangement is a reinforcement material such as carbon, glass or aramid fibre combined with a specially formulated resin system. Pre-impregnated composite materials – so called prepregs – are a key product specialty of Gurit and combine fibres and resin matrices as an easy-to-apply intermediate material. Additional components of our composite material solutions include structural foam products, formulated resins, adhesives and gel coats.
