Comac makes its first moves in a FREE MARKET RICH OF OPPORTUNITIES 1974 The brilliant idea of creating Comac (acronym of Costruzione Macchine) in 1974 came from Giancarlo Ruffo, then seller of motorised sweeping machines. The location of the warehouse where the first models were hand-crafted was in Via Garofoli, in San Giovanni Lupatoto, in the province of Verona, then from 1984 on, in via Ca Nova Zampieri, where the manufacture, the offices and the headquarters of the famous firm are located. In the early 70s, the sector was in its infancy and there were no Italian producers capable of designing and manufacturing scrubbing machines for professional use. The current leader and Chief Executive Officer of a firm bound to become a world famous "name" perceived the huge potential of mechanised cleaning and made it his own. Capitalising on his previous experience, he painstakingly managed to create the first scrubbing machines, the history-making Lavait 400 and Lavait 500. Already then the strategy was that "a quality product is the best advertising vehicle to make us become known". The acquirer of the first machine must be satisfied in order to then recommend its purchase. 1980-The L16 model1980-Comac L17 scrubbing machine1981-Comac took part for the first time at the industrys most important international fair: Issa Interclean in Amsterdam1982-L32: another model of the L line1983-2nd participation of Comac at Issa Interclean in Amsterdam1984-The first Comac headquarters in Via Ca Nova Zampieri in San Giovanni Lupatoto, in the province of Verona1985-Issa Interclean fair in Amsterdam: the stand surface became larger and larger1987-C125: ride-on Comac scrubbing machine of large dimensions operating in Piazza Bra in Verona1988-C100 took the lead of the large surface market1989-L42: the latest model of a history-making line Growth of Comac THE FIRST SCRUBBING MACHINES MADE A NAME FOR THEMSELVES ON THE MARKET 1980 In 1980, Comac became a leader in Italy and abroad with its L16 machine polyvalence, efficiency, robustness, ease of use and silence were the winning qualities of this unforgettable model. In the following years, the range of scrubbing machines was completed with a cleaning width varying from 40 to 110 cm. 1984 Comac grew rapidly and acquired its first headquarters in Via Ca Nova Zampieri, still in San Giovanni Lupatoto, where it designed, produced and marketed its entire product range. 1985 In 1985 Comac became a public limited company. New machines were designed while previous ones were perfected, built in stainless steel, of various dimensions, cable and battery-powered, thus creating a complete line identified by the initial "L". The company was leading the national and European markets and was undergoing constant growth thanks to the wise and prudent investment management. 1990-The C85 scrubbing machine became a market reference1991-Presentation of the walk-behind scrubbing machines of the "C" series, in the Comac fashion1991-Presentation of the walk-behind scrubbing machines of the "C" series, in the Comac fashion1992-Souvenir photo of the first incentive trip with Comac customers1993-The C83/C104 models were an extension of the walk-behind "C" series1994- The CE45 scrubbing machine was a groundbreaking cable-powered machine in those years.
