Founded in 1913, the company has built over 7,000 aircraft including about 2,000 trainers to more than 40 countries. It was acquired by Finmeccanica in 2003 and now operates as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Alenia Aeronautica. The company is based at Venegono Superiore (Varese province), with facilities including airfield, extensive structural laboratories and workshops, wind and water tunnels.
