The design, the calculations, t......CAT started its activity over 20 years ago by designing and manufacturing high quality gears and gearboxes as well as power transmission shafts for special and high-technology applications. The design, the calculations, the construction, the intermediate and final tests are performed according to the parameters imposed by the most important Certification Authorities, such as (R.I.N.A, A.B.S., Lloyd’s Register, G.L.R etc.) Our two test rooms are equipped with the most modern testing equipment for the detection of temperature, vibrations, non destructive controls etc. The tests can be performed wither at no load and at full load and guarantee the quality and reliability of our products. CAT developed a modern series of standard gearboxes that cover a wide range of use (up to 16000 kW and 1500 rpm). Electro-welded steel housings and gears of alloy steel, casehardened, hardened and ground, guarantee high standards of reliability and duration. In the transmission shaft sector the increase of the production range, which took place in the last few years, allows an ample ex-stock delivery of the medium-light types. The power increase of the heavy types, with flanges up to 1200 mm and maximum torque of 9000 kN, sets our company among the European leaders of this sector.
