The commercial offices are located in the centre of Milan, to offer a better and faster service in a strategic way. The plants, instead, are situated in Villesse (photo above), 30 kms far from Trieste over a 40,000 sqm area, 16,000 of which are indoor. Today something like 200 people work in our plants. However our staff is more important than our plants. Its selection, professional training and employment are managed with the outmost care. Through training young workers receive regularly, the Cortem staff is indeed the real treasure of the company. Because, despite the high technological level of the plants, the manufacturing of some details is still made manually, with the same passion which distinguished the old handcraft manufacturing, while keeping a high quality standard. The present productive strategy is aimed at obtaining the utmost operational flexibility both as for mix and output volumes. Numerical controlled machine tools of very high precision and with a continuous cycle automatic painting system have been gradually added to the production system. Cortem does not limit itself to assemble the various components, but aims at ensuring the quality of materials, the trustworthiness of manufacturing systems and therefore, lastly, the accuracy of each operating unit, since Cortem manufactures all the appliances inside its plants, with materials and components undergoing the most demanding controls, which are carried out by a qualified staff step by step. Safety in electrical plants is an essential factor. It is fundamental where there is a danger of explosion and therefore when there are obligations as for the plants construction, the checks, the ordinary maintenance in risky places. Cortem’s high technological level is best shown during planning by the existence of CAD/CAM stations, because our strategic purpose is to make always use of the newest technologies both for products and services. Very accurate controls are carried out during manufacturing by means of proper certified calipers, and further sample tests on functioning. All Cortem products are certified by specialists recognised by the European Community. CESI (Italy) – ISSEP (Belgium). Since when it was set up till today, its turnover has always been increasing in relation to its industrial dimension. This expansion started with the European market and then reached the current dimensions. The company can offer technical assistance to customers all over the world thanks to the professional experience it has acquired in the most various situations, as well as to the extension of its worldwide technical-commercial network.
