At ......From 1987 until today the SMI Group has been developing surprisingly, turning from a small family-run business specialized in machine finishings for third parties into a worldwide known leader in the packaging sector. At present the Group consists of SMI, the Group’s parent company, with its internal divisions (SMIForm, SMILine, SMIMec and SMITec), of the two subsidiary companies SMIPACK and SMIWRAP and of a network of branches providing sales and after sales support to SMI and SMIPACK clients. Moreover, all the Group’s companies, whose quality management system is UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 certified, are located short distance from one another in San Giovanni Bianco (BG) and in San Pellegrino Terme (BG). The constant technological innovation, the careful analysis of the customer’s requests and the excellent quality/price ratio are the three corner stones on which the SMI Group policy is based. It is not certainly by chance if all the major corporations of the food & beverage sector are among SMI Group’s most important customers: Nestlè, Danone, Unilever, Coca Cola, PepsiCo, P & G, Heinz, Heineken, SABMiller, Inbev and Carlsberg.The progressive increase of the turnover and of the human resources, as well as the substantial extension of the production sites, are some of the factors proving the great development that characterized SMI, SMIPACK and SMIWRAP in the last few years.
