Work began in 1958 when brothers Vito and Giuseppe Schiavi, already producing converting machines and systems, had the opportunity to start a second business linked to the production of sheet metal working machines. The French company Promecam, manufacturer of press brakes with brand new and interesting features, licensed Schiavi, based in Piacenza to build its machines and sell them on the Italian market. More than 12000 installed press brakes confirm the quality of these machines, present on the Italian market from almost 50 years. …to a range of no less than eight product lines. Schiavi, which in September 2004 secured its release from its position as a license holder for Amada Co. – a global Japanese company which took over from Promecam in 1986 – is now free to manufacture and sell sheet metal working machines all over the world, not just in Italy. The many innovations introduced by Schiavi in its range, today including eight product lines, confirms its heritage and technological know-how, which the company has skilfully preserved and developed.
