The company was founded in Cagliari - on the island of Sardinia, Italy - in 1955, to provide support to the Mambrini Constructions Group, which dealt with road construction and civil engineering at the time. With its mechanics department, REMOSA could guarantee timely maintenance and repair services to the machinery utilized in MCGs working sites all over the island. Shipping the equipment to maintenance centers on the mainland was not necessary anymore. Thanks to the efficiency and the reliability which has been its goal since the beginning of its activity, REMOSA rapidly achieved high quality levels, growing from a small regional company to a strong world-wide competitor. It was, in fact, during the stages of its development that REMOSA acquired a solid industrial service experience, working with refineries, petro-chemical industries, power plants, metal working industries, mining and manufacturing industries, where it operates as a service provider for mechanical precision products and industrial maintenance. Having treasured the acquired experience, REMOSA was later able to invest in technological and planning know-how, updating its machinery, improving its organizational structure and personnel training, as well as aggressively moving into two new fields: design, construction and maintenance of valves for FCC-Expander Units design, construction and maintenance of drilling machinery - with the Reska unit. Situated in Cagliari, the main production plant today occupies an area of 35,000 sqare metres (376,000 sq. Ft) of which 15,000 (161,000 sq. Ft) is indoor. It is supplied with advanced equipment and it has been planned according to the highest labour and environmental safety standards. A strong point for REMOSA is the availability of a wide range of high-tech machine tools, including special tools or machinery for processing all kinds of steel and refractory materials, as well as CNC machining tools which allow for a high quality standard production. Furthermore, the experience of highly specialized operators allows a reduction of time in working process cycles, providing lower production costs. Many client groups reduce their own costs and delivery time by utilizing REMOSA for the construction of spare parts. In order to appropriately meet the requirements of its clientele the company has improved the development of its technical services and planning strategies. Remosas technical service can carry out the research and design of prototypes both for FCC plant applications and Reska drilling machinery. It also studies and solves problems of any nature that may be encountered during the maintenance of industrial plants. REMOSA will find the most cost-efficient solution to unforeseen problems without forcing the customer to wait for often late answers from the constructors of the equipment. After an on-site analysis of the state of the equipment, and pressed by unanticipated problems, REMOSAs technicians have been often able to suggest substantial modifications in order to improve the performance of the plant and allow for better efficiency. What has been stated above highlights another important factor which characterizes REMOSA: field service. It is in fact on the field that the experienced technicians and workers, who are supplied with technologically advanced equipment, best express themselves. They are capable of solving problems and planning solutions that may sometimes require the shipping of some components directly from the REMOSA main plant. REMOSA technicians have given proof of their exceptional versatility from the Andes in Argentina to the desert in Saudi Arabia. REMOSA has always attempted to function autonomously, to offer its clients a global service both for planned interventions and emergencies. Offering a complete and reliable assistance, Remosa directly co-ordinates the other companies operating on site in case of a plant stoppage, from the initial phases to the re-activation of the whole plant. Two spin-off companies were created by Remosa to operate in specific fields: OES - Officine Elettromeccaniche Sarde (offering electro-mechanical maintenance and repair services since 1984) and Remosa Service (industrial maintenance, since 2000). In both cases, management, specialized staff and know-how were transferred from the mother company. It is through this philosophy of constant improvement that REMOSA SpA has obtained the SGS Quality Certification according to UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 and it has been for many years a Slide Valve Recommended Supplier for the US-based process company UOP.
