Initially, the company manufactured specialist switchgear to customers designs, beginning the manufacture of the Albright contactor range in 1955 which started the strong tradition of designing and manufacturing our own products. Albright contactors have become the standard which others have tried to imitate, but it is with good reason that Albright has become the most popular and extensively used DC contactor throughout the world. The design process has resulted in products which are compact and space efficient without compromise of performance or quality. Only high specification materials are used throughout, thermosetting contact housings, silver alloy contact tips, substantial copper conductors, Class H insulation for coils, self lubricating armature bearings, and similar high quality components, being just some of the features which have established Albright as the number one DC contactor supplier with premier manufacturers of electric vehicles, telecommunications, welding, railway and marine products. In addition to contactors, a range of manually operated disconnecting switches are also available. Albright International operates from two sites in the South of England, in modern well-equipped offices and factories. Additionally, Albright has a wholly owned factory in China, manufacturing to our highest quality standards, for supplying the Asian market. With a network of worldwide agents and distributors we can review applications, and supply our original design DC contactors throughout the world. With 3D Solidworks design, rapid prototyping, and an in-house laboratory, the original design process leads to a quick turnaround of the innovative original new products for the Albright product range.
