It has since expanded into providing Waterside Safety Equipment (especially to the Public Sector and the construction / leisure industries), and specialised products to the emergency services (including inflatable Rescue Equipment and Forensic Body Recovery Systems). Originally formed as a partnership, the business has grown substantially in terms of sales, product range and the number of international markets that it serves. To help secure its continued growth, it was converted into a limited company in 2011. Although it is based in the UK, over half its sales are exported, and many of its marine customers rely on it to source and assemble a complete solution for their safety needs. The company takes pride in professionally appraising and efficiently resolving safety equipment problems, and is the author and publisher of a range of SOLAS, fire-fighting, survival, and safety equipment manuals (some of which are now regarded as having become the international industry standard). The company works closely with DSB Deutsche Schlauchboot GmbH, part of the Survitec group of companies. From its manufacturing plant in Germany, DSB is a major global supplier of inflatable products such as liferafts, rescue boats, rescue shelters and other safety equipment. I C Brindles longstanding relationship with DSB not only includes distribution of DSB products, but also instructing DSB liferaft service technicians worldwide, and conducting inspections of DSB Liferaft Service Stations.
