This business continuity planning (BCP) is a continuation of the work being done in this area by Cisco and Scientific Atlanta, and demonstrates Fibercore Limiteds continuing commitment to providing customers with a secure supply of high quality, specialty fiber delivered on time, on budget and with zero defects. Fibercore Limited has recognised that stability and security of supply is pivotal for its customers as a constant supply of high-quality specialty fiber is critical to many of their key applications. As a direct result of this, Fibercore Limited has developed business practices to ensure that in the event of an incident causing disruption, key functions can be restored rapidly enough to minimise the impact on core business performance. This will enable the company to continue to function effectively and with the minimum discernable disruption to its customers. Having undertaken a threat analysis in accordance with BS 25999, Fibercore Limited has reviewed all of its business process from R&D, through manufacture to delivery and is now actively developing contingency measures in each area. These will range from ensuring that suitable supplies of raw materials and replacement parts are available in stock to securing replacement items of major plant that can be delivered installed and commissioned at short notice. The benefits of thorough BCP planning are obvious for both Fibercore Limited and its customers through the confidence and security of supply that it provides. Fibercore Limiteds stability and capacity to overcome challenges have been key factors in securing recent major orders, especially where a second source has not been engaged. Dr. Chris Emslie, Managing Director of Fibercore Limited, comments: The significance of deploying robust business continuity planning has become more evident in the turbulent economic and political climate of recent years. At Fibercore Limited, our commitment to our customers has been the driving force in ensuring we are able to continue to supply fiber in the event of any disruption to our operations. The investment in improving business continuity is part of our core commitment to delivering high quality specialty optical fibers to our clients in a specified time period and ensures that we are able to provide both quality and peace of mind to our customers.
