He Harbin Power Plant Valve Company Limited is the vice chairman unit of the Valve Branch of the China General Machinery Industry Association. It was founded in 1954 as part of the 156 key construction projects supported by the Soviet Union during China’s First Five-Year Plan. The company has evolved through several stages, including Harbin Boiler Factory’s second workshop, the Valve Branch Factory, the Power Station Valve Development Division, and Harbin Boiler Valve Co., Ltd. In January 2008, it was officially renamed He Harbin Power Plant Valve Company Limited and is now one of the key subsidiaries of Harbin Electric Corporation.

As the first mixed-ownership reform pilot enterprise of Harbin Electric Corporation, Harbin Valve was included in the “Double Hundred” enterprises list by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) in August 2018. By the end of 2020, the company completed its mixed-ownership reform. After the reform, the company has a registered capital of RMB 177.78 million, with Harbin Electric Corporation holding 45% of the shares, while the Double Hundred Fund, Longjiang Revitalization Fund, and other funds hold around 31%, the employee stock ownership platform holds 10%, and upstream and downstream enterprises in the supply chain hold 14%.

The company covers an area of 75,000 square meters, with a production area of 42,000 square meters, and operates two plants in Pingfang and Xiangfang districts. It is equipped with world-class processing, testing, and trial equipment, with an annual production capacity of around 2,400 tons.

The company specializes in the design and manufacture of valves, water level measurement devices, and desuperheating and depressurization devices for various industries, including thermal power, nuclear power, solar thermal, petrochemicals, and military sectors. Its main products include full-bore safety valves, molten salt safety valves, gate valves, stop valves, check valves, hydrostatic test plug valves, and new types of regulating valves. The company offers over 40 series and more than 3,000 varieties of products. Its products are sold to power plants and supporting enterprises across China and exported to countries such as Japan, India, Vietnam, Turkey, Indonesia, and Pakistan. The company is ranked among the top in the domestic valve industry, particularly excelling in the high-temperature, high-pressure thermal power valve segment, where it holds a leading position.

Production Information

The valve company leads with technological innovation, having undertaken and completed several key scientific research projects, such as the localization of valves for 600MW supercritical thermal power units and the research and industrialization of major equipment for 1000MW ultra-supercritical thermal power units. As one of the key participants in the national localization of critical valves for super (ultra) critical power units, the company has developed the largest number of second and third-class valves. A total of 25 valve types have passed technical or product appraisals organized by the National Energy Administration. The company’s market share for localized application promotion projects is nearly 70%, the highest in the industry. Additionally, the company’s flagship product, the full-scale safety valve, received the second prize for technological progress from the Ministry of Machinery Industry. Its electromagnetic release devices and other products won national new product awards. The series of products related to the research and industrialization of major equipment for ultra-supercritical 1,000MW units received the Special Prize for Science and Technology from the China Machinery Industry Federation, along with multiple national patents. The company’s research on ultra-supercritical high-end control valves and pressure relief valves was awarded the second prize for technological progress by the Ministry of Machinery Industry, and its MSR pilot-operated safety valve for million-kilowatt units won the third prize for provincial technological progress.
