In the 1980s, the dry-type cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) power cables produced by Shenyang Cable Factory boasted excellent electrical and heat-resistant properties, high operating temperature tolerance, and large transmission capacity. These cables also simplified and cleaned up the processes of cable laying, installation, and maintenance.
In 1985, China’s domestically produced 63kV high-voltage XLPE power cables were successfully trial-manufactured at Shenyang Cable Factory, with cable accessories passing acceptance by the end of that year. In 1986, China’s domestically produced 110kV cable accessories were successfully trial-manufactured at Shenyang Cable Factory, followed by the successful trial-manufactured of 110kV high-voltage XLPE power cables in 1987. By 1994, 100 kilometers of 110kV cables were mass-produced and delivered by Shenyang Cable Factory. On June 5, 2002, Shenyang Guolian Cable Accessories Manufacture Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Shenyang Guolian") was established, inheriting the high-voltage cable accessory manufacturing technology and professional team from Shenyang Cable Factory. Over the years, Shenyang Guolian has witnessed the birth and evolution of Chinese cable accessory products.
Upon its establishment, Shenyang Guolian possessed mature production experience and professional expertise. After years of technological research, development, and upgrades, the company now offers four major product series: cable accessories, intelligent products, fireproof and explosion-proof solutions, and power fittings. It holds 2 invention patents, 42 utility model patents, and 6 software copyrights. By integrating advanced design concepts, selecting reliable technical approaches, and utilizing professional fatigue strength and arc simulation software, Shenyang Guolian developed the OFFSET product (a telescopic compensation device for high-voltage cable bridge laying). This innovation eliminates excessive tension on cables caused by bridge displacement, bending, or misalignment, preventing destructive pulling or breaking of cables, thus solving a technical challenge in the field of power cable bridge laying.
Over the years, Shenyang Guolian has provided safe and reliable cable accessory products and efficient installation services to critical industries such as power, energy, steel, aluminum, coal mining, petrochemicals, and rail transit, which are vital to national welfare and the economy. The company has received numerous letters of commendation and gratitude from clients. Shenyang Guolian has consistently supported the development and utilization of clean energy. Since China's wind power industry saw its first construction boom in 2007, Shenyang Guolian has provided cable accessories and technical services for onshore wind, offshore wind, photovoltaic, and integrated fishery-solar projects across multiple regions.
In 2010, Shenyang Guolian won the first batch of the State Grid Corporation's centralized tender for 110kV cable accessories, making it the earliest company in the province to secure such a bid. That same year, its 110kV outdoor cable terminal products were put into operation at an altitude of 4,300 meters in Yangbajing, Tibet, demonstrating the high quality of domestically manufactured cable accessories. In 2021, Shenyang Guolian delivered the pilot project for the intelligent online cable monitoring system at CNPC's Dagang Oilfield in Tianjin, supplying 110kV terminals, intermediate joints, grounding boxes, and related intelligent online monitoring equipment for cable transmission lines, contributing to smart power systems. In 2022, Shenyang Guolian provided 220kV cables and accessories, along with technical guidance, product laying, and installation services, for the Zhonglian Green Big Data Project, offering technical support for major initiatives.
