The Lubricant Company is a specialized lubricating oil company under China National Petroleum Corporation, integrating production, research and development, sales, and services.
To address the competitive environment of the globalized and market-oriented lubricating oil industry, in accordance with the group company’s “Five Unifications and One Centralization” strategy—unified resource allocation, unified product standards, unified network layout, unified price management, unified research organization, and centralized efforts to promote brand names—the Lubricant Company was officially established on December 19, 2000. It integrated brands such as Feitian and Qixing, launching the “Kunlun” brand and the “Gem Flower” logo. The company currently has 9 functional departments, 2 directly affiliated institutions, 22 secondary units, and 3,451 employees. It has production bases or sales units in 15 cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Lanzhou, Daqing, Dalian, Karamay, Panjin, Taicang, Chengdu, Xiamen, and Wuxi, and 3 research centers in Lanzhou, Dalian, and Shanghai. In 2023, refining specialty products such as general base oil, white oil, and rubber fillers were incorporated into the Kunlun brand. The company can currently produce 20 major categories with over 700 varieties of products, including automotive oils, industrial oils, marine oils, greases, additives, metalworking fluids, and automotive auxiliary products, covering industries such as automotive manufacturing, construction machinery, steel and coal, wind and nuclear power, high-speed rail, and ships. It is the preferred oil for equipment and supporting services for major enterprises such as SAIC Motor, Dongfeng, Baowu, Shougang, TBEA, and CSSC.
The Lubricant Company possesses industry-leading research and development capabilities, undertaking key national research projects. It has won three out of four national awards in the lubricant industry and received the 24th China Patent Excellence Award in 2023. The company maintains a leading position in China in fields such as gear oil, internal combustion engine oil, and naphthenic oil. It holds 233 authorized patents, including 164 invention patents, and has developed or revised 166 national and industry standards and 609 enterprise standards. The company operates 2 CMA-accredited laboratories and 9 CNAS-accredited laboratories, with over 1,380 sets of various bench test and large-scale simulation test equipment.
