The predecessor of XCMG dates back to the establishment of Huaxing Iron Factory in 1943. In 1989, XCMG became the first group company in the domestic industry, serving as a pioneer, leader, and influencer in China's construction machinery sector. It is a globally competitive and influential enterprise, with value surpassing RMB 100 billion yuan, and recognized as a world-leading brand.

For 35 years, the company's key indicators have consistently ranked first in the domestic industry and remained among the top in the global industry for many years. XCMG has been the only company in its domestic industry to be included in the "World's 500 Most Influential Brands" for five consecutive years and is listed among the Fortune China 500 and the Forbes China 30 Overseas Enterprises. Supported and driven by XCMG, Xuzhou, Jiangsu, has been designated as the "Capital of China's Construction Machinery" and was among the first to be selected as a national advanced manufacturing cluster. As part of the national "Double Hundred Action" and one of Jiangsu Province's first pilot enterprises, XCMG successfully completed its mixed-ownership reform and the overall listing of its construction machinery sector, earning recognition as a benchmark demonstration of state-owned enterprise reform.

Since the 1950s, when New China produced its first batch of construction machinery products, XCMG has grown into a large-scale enterprise with the most comprehensive range of products and series in the industry. XCMG has established a modern industrial system known as the "5+1+1" structure, encompassing five machiney sectors (construction, mining, agricultural, sanitation, and emergency rescue equipment, plus commercial vehicles, and modern services. The company has pioneered over 100 pieces of major domestically-produced equipment including the "World's Largest Crane," "China's No.1 Excavator," and "Global No.1 Drill," among others, and developed more than a thousand critical core technologies. Among its main construction machinery products, three categories rank first globally, five categories are in the global top three, and sixteen categories hold the leading market share in China. Furthermore, XCMG has consistently maintained the top position in sales of new energy heavy-duty trucks.

XCMG was one of the first Chinese construction machinery brands to expand internationally. It currently has an overseas presence in 14 regions, with six global R&D centers, as well as procurement centers, logistics centers, and financial platforms. The company operates more than ten overseas manufacturing bases and KD (Knock- Down) factories. Notably, its greenfield manufacturing base in Brazil received the industry's only "China-Brazil Highest Honor Medal for Exchange." The XCMG Brazil Industrial Park has become China's first overseas economic and trade cooperation zone focused on construction machinery. Through acquisitions such as the German company Schwing, XCMG has become an exemplary model of Sino-German joint ventures and cooperation. Its products are exported to over 190 countries and regions, with more than 95% coverage along the "Belt and Road Initiative." Both the annual export volume and overseas revenue remain industry-leading. Transitioning from initial trade export to deep localization, XCMG is accelerating its move towards high-quality development, becoming a prominent representative of Chinese equipment manufacturing on the global stage.

The company was honored as a "National Heroic Collective in Earthquake Relief" by the Central Commitee of the Communist Party of China, the State Council, and the Central Military Commission. It has twice received the "National Advanced Primary Party Organization" award and holds the highest honor in China's industrial sector, the "China Industry Award."
