Through the research and development carried out at Mikrotools, advanced micro-machining tools are being developed to help companies and researchers develop new technical capabilities and products. Board of Directors Mustafizur Rahman, Ph.D, Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, National University of Singapore. Dr Rahman obtained his M.Eng and Ph.D. degrees from Tokyo Institute of Technology and started to work with Makino Milling Machine Co. Ltd. (Japan) until 1982. Later he joined the Mechanical Engineering Department of the National University of Singapore. He is a recipient of several awards including the IES Prestigious Engineering Achievement Award (2004), Singapore. Dr Rahmans areas of research are in the development of miniature machine tools for micro/nano machining, ultra-precision/high-speed machining of MEMS, dies and aero-space materials, nano finishing of hard materials using ELID grinding. Anantharajan Senthil Kumar, Ph.D, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, National University of Singapore. Dr Senthil Kumar’s research interests are in the area of fixture design, micro and nano machining and ELID grinding. He has co-authored two books has published over 120 papers in the International Journals and Conferences. He has received several awards including the Serope Kalpakjians Outstanding Young Manufacturing Engineers Award (2002) from the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, USA and IES Prestigious Engineering Achievement Award (2004), Singapore Poo Aun Neow, Ph.D., Professor of Department of Mechanical Engineering and Director of Center for Intelligent Products and Manufacturing Systems (CIPMAS), National University of Singapore. Dr Poo’s Research interest are in the filed of mechatronics and intelligent control. He has held several important positions in the Faculty including the Dean and Head of the Department. He has obtained several awards for his research and his pioneering work on feedback control has received several citations.
