On September 24, the world's first mass-production line dedicated to aqueous metal batteries (AMC) was officially put into operation at the Changzhou Wujin mass-production base of EnerVenue.

Aqueous metal batteries were initially used in the aerospace sector and offer the advantages of a high cycle life and high safety. Henning Rath, CEO of EnerVenue, introduced that the company's aqueous metal batteries are designed for infrastructure and feature a design cycle life of 30,000 cycles, sufficient to withstand various harsh operating environments while eliminating the risk of thermal runaway fires. "Our aqueous metal batteries have now achieved mass production, which is of great significance to the energy storage industry. Now that the first production line has been successfully brought into operation, we can replicate this model around the world in the future and build more mass-production plants."

It is understood that the first-phase production line put into operation by EnerVenue this time has a designed annual capacity of 250 megawatt-hours and is expected to reach full production in November. In accordance with the manufacturing requirements of aqueous metal batteries, EnerVenue independently designed and built the production line equipment. The entire production line, from raw material feeding through to the off-line completion of finished battery cells, can achieve fully automated operation. At the same time, the production line can accommodate the production of four products, all using the same battery chemistry system, to meet the energy storage needs of different scenarios. After full automation is in operation, the plant can produce approximately 300 fourth-generation aqueous metal battery cells per day. According to the plan, the base's capacity will be increased to 1 gigawatt-hour by 2027.

At the opening ceremony, EnerVenue signed strategic cooperation agreements with a total of 8 companies: Hong Kong and China Gas, Towngas Smart Energy, Shanghai Electric Group Power Transmission and Distribution Equipment Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Comprehensive Smart Energy Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Huahong New Energy Development Co., Ltd., Bicheng Energy Development Co., Ltd., Suzhou Yuanzhang New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., DesertTechnologies, and KIOZ.
