The gate valve is used as a cut-off medium, and when the whole flow through is fully open, the pressure loss of the medium operation is minimal. Gate valves are usually suitable for not requiring frequent opening and keeping the gates fully open or closed. Not applicable for use as a regulation or for throttling. For high-speed flowing medium, the gate can cause the vibration of the gate under local opening conditions, and the vibration may damage the sealing surface of the gate and the valve seat, and the throttling will make the gate eroded by the medium.
