Qualcomm Technologies utilized the CMP180 tester to validate the advanced multi-antenna capabilities supporting 5×5 MIMO across the 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz frequency bands. This architecture can enhance the capacity and connection reliability of Wi-Fi 8 platforms in real-world deployment scenarios. Based on the IEEE 802.11bn specification, Wi-Fi 8 improves upon Wi-Fi 7 by enhancing reliability, efficiency, and mobility, extending range, increasing spectrum utilization, and reducing latency through new PHY and MAC layer technologies.
The new features of Wi-Fi 8 will drive wireless LAN performance in homes, offices, venues, and factories, supporting applications such as extended reality, AI-assisted applications, real-time cloud gaming, and ultra-high-definition content streaming.
