Wedoany.com Report, On March 8, Cooling Tower No. 5 of the Anhui Anqing Phase III project, constructed by China Energy Engineering Group Tianjin Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd. (CEEC Tianjin Electric Power Construction), achieved its topping-out. This progress marks a key milestone in the main structural construction of the project, laying a solid foundation for the smooth advancement of subsequent works.

The cooling tower adopts a hyperbolic shell structure with a total height of 195 meters, comprising 142 sections of the cylinder wall. Construction began with the pouring of the first concrete on July 1, 2025, and the entire cylinder wall work was completed after 251 days. The cooling tower has a water drenching area of 12,800 square meters, an air inlet elevation of 12 meters, an air inlet radius of 66.5 meters, a throat radius of 40.913 meters, a throat elevation of 152.166 meters, a maximum cylinder wall thickness of 1.4 meters, and a minimum thickness of 0.26 meters.

The project is located in Laofeng Town, Anqing City, Anhui Province, involving the expansion of two 1,000 MW ultra-supercritical double reheat coal-fired power generation units to the east of the Anqing Power Plant Phase II. Upon completion of the Phase III project, the total installed capacity of the Anqing Power Plant will reach 4,640 MW, making it the power plant with the largest installed capacity in Anhui Province. This will help alleviate the tight power supply situation in the Anhui power grid and enhance the system's peak-shaving and new energy consumption capabilities.
