Wedoany.com Report, On March 5th, Ube Industries, Ltd. of Japan announced the establishment of Ube Polymer Chemicals Europe S.L. (Upce) in Puerto de Castellón, Spain, marking a key step in the reorganization of its European operations. This move aligns with Ube's medium-term management plan, aiming to integrate its subsidiaries and provide back-office support through the establishment of a regional holding company, thereby enhancing the operational efficiency of overseas subsidiaries and driving global expansion.

Previously, Ube's European operations were primarily managed by its wholly-owned subsidiary, Ube Corporation Europe B.V. (UCE). Following the acquisition of Lanxess's polyurethane systems business in April 2025, the number of subsidiaries under UCE increased, making the existing structure inadequate. This necessitated an urgent reorganization. Under the new structure, Upce will take over all business operations of UCE, becoming Ube's core production entity in Europe, while UCE will transform into a regional holding company for Europe. This adjustment is expected to streamline management processes and support the company's continued growth.

As of March 31, 2025, UCE's annual net sales were 64.9 billion yen. It is projected that Upce's sales will account for over 10% of Ube's consolidated net sales for the same period. Beyond Europe, Ube had already established a regional holding company in the United States in January 2023 to improve management efficiency and is currently considering implementing a similar structure in Asia to further strengthen its global operational system.
