Wedoany.com Report on Mar 11th, Under the AMRUT scheme, the 24×7 water supply project in Silchar, Assam has been constructed. Implemented by Vishnu Prakash R. Punglia Ltd., the project, with an estimated cost of 1.77 billion rupees, aims to provide a continuous and reliable drinking water supply to Silchar city.

The scope of this water supply project includes the design, supply, and construction of the intake system, raw water treatment plant, transmission mains, pumping stations, service reservoirs, distribution network, house service connections, and a PLC-SCADA automation system. The project also includes five years of operation and maintenance services to ensure the long-term stable operation of the water supply system. Executed by the Assam Urban Water Supply & Sewerage Board, water supply commenced on March 1, 2024.
