The partnership will leverage Elicit Plant's R&D expertise and Certis Belchim's experience in crop protection, with a specific focus on enhancing potato tolerance to abiotic stresses, particularly drought. The two companies plan to introduce a potato-specific formulation compatible with standard spraying procedures to optimize crop yield.
As an initial achievement, Elicit Plant has developed several candidate products through its EliTerra platform, based on phytosterol technology. These bioactive compounds have demonstrated the potential to improve potato resilience and productivity under climatic stress.
Next, the two companies will expand field trials to evaluate performance under various soil and climatic conditions. The goal is to provide a scientifically-backed, easy-to-use solution to promote sustainable potato production.
