Wedoany.com Report on Mar 13th, Recently, the hydrostatic test for the reactor pressure vessel of Unit 2 at China's Xudapu Nuclear Power Plant was successfully completed.

The reactor pressure vessel is the core equipment of a nuclear power plant, often referred to as the "heart" of nuclear power. The test verified the quality of pressure-bearing welds and the overall sealing integrity by monitoring parameters during the pressurization, pressure-holding, and depressurization phases, combined with non-destructive testing, ensuring its safe and reliable operation.
To strengthen the whole-process control of equipment supply, Liaoning Nuclear Power, in collaboration with the Nuclear Power Institute of China and equipment manufacturers, systematically organized preliminary work, meticulously planned and deployed the project, drew on experience from similar projects, identified potential risks in advance, optimized process flows, and formulated construction support plans. During implementation, the team established a dynamic management mechanism of daily tracking and weekly coordination, assigned senior equipment engineers for dedicated coordination with the general contractor, procurement, and design units, efficiently advanced document circulation, and effectively shortened approval cycles.

The successful completion of the hydrostatic test has laid the foundation for the on-time delivery of the equipment, marking the official countdown for the delivery of the main nuclear island equipment for Unit 2 of the Xudapu Nuclear Power Plant.
