Wedoany.com Report on Mar 18th, PulPac, Future Materials Sweden, and Yoik AB have jointly developed a molded fiber snus can based on dry-molded fiber material for the Helwit brand, specifically designed for the smokeless tobacco market.

Future Materials and PulPac have signed a licensing agreement to advance the commercialization of dry-molded fiber products. This molded fiber snus can is designed to meet the stringent functional and commercial requirements of the smokeless tobacco industry, including dimensional accuracy, fit, and durability.

The molded fiber snus can is engineered to withstand repeated opening and closing, effectively protect the product, and meet surface finish and tolerance standards. The project is currently in the structured validation phase, with subsequent performance testing and trials planned on Yoik's filling line to optimize robustness and scalability readiness.

The partners are planning industrialization and scaling strategies, including production process and mold improvements, to ensure a smooth transition from proof-of-concept to scalable manufacturing. Morgan Svensson, founder of Future Materials Sweden, stated: "We have presented this concept to customers, and the feedback confirms market demand. Interest from the Swedish and U.S. markets indicates significant production potential. We are focused on building a commercially viable solution with a cost positioning that supports industrial adoption. In collaboration with PulPac, our goal is to scale this molded fiber snus can globally."

In related developments, Ekoroll has introduced a single-use biodegradable paper ashtray, simplifying cleaning for outdoor dining and reducing waste. Last year, Contempo Specialty Packaging developed a child-resistant, plastic-free pre-rolled cannabis box, offering an eco-friendly cardboard option.
