Wedoany.com Report on Mar 19th, Irish energy technology company GridBeyond recently completed a €12 million funding round, with Samsung Ventures participating in this round. The funds will be used to expand its demand response and flexibility platform to address the growing trend of demand-side resources becoming mainstream in the energy market.
GridBeyond's platform provides "virtual flexibility" services by coordinating industrial loads, on-site generation, and battery energy storage systems. The system can respond to grid signals within seconds, enabling functions such as peak shaving and frequency response, while optimizing behind-the-meter assets to capture market revenue and reduce energy costs.
The involvement of Samsung Ventures reflects investors' strategic focus on the intersection of artificial intelligence, energy, and infrastructure, as well as their interest in scalable platform technologies. Such platforms can integrate thousands of distributed energy resources to achieve economies of scale.
The proceeds from the funding will be primarily used for commercial expansion, including integration with battery energy storage systems, electric vehicle fleets, building control systems, as well as entry into emerging product areas. As the global energy transition accelerates, demand response technology is becoming a key tool for enhancing grid stability and efficiency.
