en.Wedoany.com Report on Mar 26th, The Scottish Government's Energy Consents Unit has approved the Dunsyde Wind Farm project located in the Lammermuir Hills area of the Scottish Borders. The wind farm plans to install 14 wind turbines.
Developed by EDF Power Solutions UK, the Dunsyde Wind Farm will be built approximately one kilometer east of the existing Fallago Rig Wind Farm, allowing for the sharing of some grid connection infrastructure. As one of the UK's leading renewable energy developers, the company has collaborated with local communities for over four years.
Sarah Dooley, Chief Project Development Manager for EDF Power Solutions UK in Scotland, stated: "We are very pleased to receive the Scottish Government's Energy Consents Unit's approval decision for the Dunsyde Wind Farm. Over the years, we have engaged extensively with communities and stakeholders in the Scottish Borders area."
"The wind farm is expected to generate approximately 91.8 megawatts of clean electricity, sufficient to power around 53,000 homes. This will help Scotland achieve its net-zero emissions target and enhance energy supply stability while reducing costs for consumers."
"Once operational, the project will establish an annual community fund exceeding £450,000, adjusted for the Consumer Price Index. Over its entire operational lifetime, this could provide a total of £11.25 million to support local groups and activities."
"We thank everyone who participated in the project consultation and provided feedback. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with the community in the subsequent phases." The load factor reference is based on a five-year rolling average, using data from Digest of UK Energy Statistics Table 6.5. The configuration remains unchanged, with data updated to July 2023.
