en.Wedoany.com Report on Mar 30th, To verify the reliability and durability of hydrogen products and assess the maturity of related technologies, the China Automotive Technology & Research Center today released China's first durability verification system for testing products across the entire hydrogen industry chain.
At the New Energy Vehicle Test Center of CATARC in Tianjin, reporters observed a hydrogen fuel cell stack undergoing a 2000-hour dynamic cycle "marathon." This is not a simple long-duration test; it involves precise control of various parameters to frequently replicate vehicle operating conditions such as idling, acceleration, and cruising. The 2000-hour high-intensity cyclic test is an extreme challenge.
On-site staff member: For this stack, we need to monitor it continuously for 2000 hours, collecting tens of millions of data points. The voltage decay must not exceed 3% to meet the verification requirements. This standard is very stringent. Achieving this is absolutely top-tier within the industry.
In fact, the scope of this hydrogen product durability verification system extends beyond fuel cell stacks. From core materials and key components of hydrogen products to fuel cell systems, and even end products like fuel cell vehicles, hydrogen-powered drones, and hydrogen-powered two-wheelers, all can undergo comprehensive systematic testing here.
Hao Dong, Chief Expert at the China Automotive Technology & Research Center: The most significant feature of our system is that it doesn't just look at whether a product "runs fast," but also examines how "stable" and "long-lasting" its performance is. The first batch of 20 products has already passed verification.
