en.Wedoany.com Report on Mar 30th, The 110th Executive Committee Meeting of the International Energy Agency (IEA) Solar Power and Chemical Energy Systems (SolarPACES) was held in Portugal. At 10:35 local time on March 25, after voting by 17 member countries, Dr. Wang Zhifeng, a researcher at the Institute of Electrical Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chairman of the National Solar Thermal Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance, and Chairman of the Solar Thermal Power Generation Committee of the Chinese Renewable Energy Society, was elected Vice Chairman of the organization.
This marks the fourth time Dr. Wang Zhifeng has been elected as Vice Chairman of SolarPACES, following successful elections in 2014, 2016, and 2024.
SolarPACES was established in 1977 and is an international organization set up by the International Energy Agency in the field of solar thermal power generation. It currently has 17 member countries, including: Australia, Austria, China, the European Commission, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Mexico, Morocco, Namibia, South Korea, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States. With the bilateral approval of the International Energy Agency and China's Ministry of Science and Technology, the Institute of Electrical Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences joined the organization as China's contracting party in 2011. This is also the 13th IEA Implementing Agreement that China has joined, following those for Clean Coal Centre, Fluidized Bed Conversion, Multiphase Flow Science, Photovoltaic Power Systems, Hydropower, Wind Energy, Energy Conservation in Buildings and Community Systems, Energy Storage, Advanced Motor Fuels, Advanced Materials for Transportation, Nuclear Fusion Reactor Technology, and Fusion Materials.
