en.Wedoany.com Reported - Microsoft Visual Studio Code version 1.114 was officially released on April 1. According to Microsoft's release notes, this version focuses on optimizing the AI chat experience, including adding video preview functionality for image carousels within chat attachments, and adding a "Copy Final Response" command to the chat context menu, allowing developers to copy the last Markdown section of the agent's response.

This version will be dedicated to semantic search and will no longer fall back to fuzzy text search. Agents can still perform text and fuzzy searches but will focus on semantic search. Microsoft has also simplified the management of codebase indexing. Furthermore, a preview feature for troubleshooting previous chat sessions allows developers to reference any historical chat session during troubleshooting, enabling post-mortem investigations without having to reproduce the issue.

VS Code 1.114 also extends TypeScript and JavaScript support to TypeScript 6.0 (released March 23). The Python environment extension recommends the community Pixi extension when a Pixi environment is detected and includes Pixi in the environment manager's priority order. Administrators can disable Anthropic Claude agent integration in chat via Group Policy; once applied, the github.copilot.chat.claudeAgent.enabled setting is managed by the organization. A proposal API for fine-grained tool approval allows model tools with approval processes to limit approval to specific parameter combinations. Since March, Microsoft has changed the VS Code update frequency from monthly to weekly, with 1.114 being the first version under this new policy.
