en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Phase II "equal capacity replacement" coal power project of the State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) Guizhou Jinyuan Chayuan Power Plant, undertaken by China Energy Engineering Group Anhui No.2 Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd., has officially commenced recently. Located in Chayuan Town, Jinsha County, Bijie City, Guizhou Province, the project is a key power supply construction initiative for the province and an important part of the strategic cooperation framework agreement between SPIC and the Guizhou Provincial Government.

Project Commencement Ceremony

By shutting down four 135 MW units at the SPIC Guizhou Xishui Power Plant, the project will construct one new 660 MW high-efficiency ultra-supercritical "W" flame boiler coal-fired generating unit using an equal capacity replacement method. It will simultaneously build flue gas desulfurization and denitrification facilities, while reserving space and interfaces for a carbon emission reduction system. The total investment is approximately 2.618 billion yuan. With core values centered on compliant reduction, high efficiency and low carbon, supply security and peak shaving, and industrial driving force, the unit is designed for an annual utilization of about 4,500 hours. The total construction period is 22 months, with the 168-hour trial run scheduled for completion in February 2028.

China Energy Engineering Group Anhui No.2 Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd. is primarily responsible for the chimney and cooling tower works of this project. Earlier, on March 23, earthwork for the chimney foundation officially began, with a foundation pit excavation depth of 5.8 meters and an outer diameter of the foundation ring slab of 29 meters. The main plant and on-site auxiliary building installation works are undertaken by China Energy Engineering Group Zhejiang Thermal Power Construction Co., Ltd.

Upon completion, the project will effectively ensure the security of power supply in the Guizhou region, promote local economic construction and development, and have positive significance for the optimization of the energy structure and the clean and efficient transformation of coal power in Southwest China.
