en.Wedoany.com Reported - MODEC Guyana is seeking contractors for the mooring connection services of the Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel for its Hammerhead project offshore Guyana, as part of the project's development preparations, with the project expected to commence production in 2029.

According to a Request for Information (RFI) issued on June 1 through the Center for Local Business Development (CLBD), MODEC invites suppliers to submit relevant information on their capabilities to support the installation and connection of the FPSO mooring system. The scope of work includes safety and quality management, engineering and preparation, supply of complete connection equipment, provision of required equipment and tool materials, mobilization and demobilization of connection equipment, positioning of the FPSO to a storm-safe condition, connection operations of the FPSO mooring system, pre- and post-completion surveys of the mooring system, and delivery of post-connection deliverables.

The company noted that the connection activities are expected to take place between July and September 2028, and interested suppliers must complete the pre-registration process and submit their responses through MODEC's supplier portal by June 11.

Hammerhead is one of several approved projects in the Stabroek block offshore Guyana, where production is expected to increase to approximately 1.7 million barrels per day by 2030. The Hammerhead FPSO is designed with a production capacity of approximately 150,000 barrels per day, along with handling associated gas and water. The development plan includes a pipeline connecting to Guyana's natural gas power generation system. The FPSO will utilize a SOFEC spread mooring system and will be moored in water depths of approximately 1,025 meters.
