en.Wedoany.com Reported - Flok Health, an AI-driven digital physiotherapy platform, has oversubscribed its Series A funding round led by Albion VC, raising $12.5 million. Existing investors Eka VC, Form Ventures, and new investor Mercia Ventures also participated in the round. The company plans to use the funds to expand its AI-operated physiotherapy services across the UK, develop new clinical pathways, and enter international markets.

Flok Health was founded by former doctor and athlete Finn Stevenson, technology expert Ric da Silva, and a team of physiotherapy and AI specialists. The company has built a digital physiotherapy clinic that delivers musculoskeletal (MSK) care via a mobile application. Its core platform uses real physiotherapist videos to simulate a live consultation experience and can respond instantly to patient input during appointments.

According to the company, the platform can autonomously deliver complete physiotherapy care pathways without the need for clinician supervision. Flok has received healthcare provider approval from the UK's Care Quality Commission and obtained Class IIa medical device certification, enabling it to independently provide full care pathways. Currently, the service is available to over 2.4 million NHS patients across 11 regions in the UK, offering on-demand back pain treatment without waiting times. The company states that deployment within the NHS has not only reduced patient waiting lists but also helped healthcare providers save clinical time and resources.

In a recent NHS rollout, over 80% of patients reported that the AI clinic was as effective as or better than traditional face-to-face physiotherapy. The same deployment also achieved significant savings in clinical time, allowing doctors to focus on patients requiring more complex care. Currently, healthcare providers continue to face growing demand for MSK services, with limited clinical capacity and long waiting lists posing severe challenges to timely access to care.

Finn Stevenson, co-founder and CEO of Flok Health, commented on the funding, stating that the most fundamental issue in healthcare today is the imbalance between supply and demand. Billions of people worldwide are suffering unnecessarily from treatable conditions, and traditional clinicians cannot bridge this gap by treating one patient at a time. He believes AI represents a generational opportunity to close the supply-demand gap, ensuring that anyone, anywhere, can access the best care when needed. He specifically noted that the company has successfully scaled its AI MSK clinic within the NHS, delivering incredible outcomes for both patients and service providers.

Flok plans to use the funds to expand its existing back pain service and launch new AI-managed pathways for hip and knee pain, as well as women's pelvic health issues. These new services collectively target some of the highest-demand treatment areas within the NHS and will significantly broaden the range of conditions that the company's platform can manage.
