en.Wedoany.com Reported - Chinese robotics startup Spirit AI's embodied intelligence model, Spirit v1.6, has topped the RoboArena leaderboard with a score of 1924, surpassing Nvidia's Cosmos3-Nano-Policy (1881 points) and DreamZero (1763 points) to claim the top spot.
According to the South China Morning Post (SCMP), Spirit AI, headquartered in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, is the first Chinese model to reach the top of the global RoboArena ranking. This benchmark evaluates how effectively general-purpose robot strategies translate into real-world actions. The ranking was released shortly after Nvidia unveiled Cosmos 3, designed to help physical AI "think before acting." Unlike large language models, physical AI focuses on machines that perceive, understand, and interact with the real world, assisting devices such as robots and autonomous vehicles in deciding their next moves.
Gasgoo reported that Spirit AI completed a 1.5 billion yuan (approximately $222 million) Series A+ funding round on June 3, supported by top-tier dollar funds, key industrial capital, national state-owned funds, and existing shareholders. This round is the largest and most diversified in terms of capital structure in China's embodied intelligence sector to date. Spirit AI is positioning its technology for applications in automotive manufacturing and smart logistics, markets that may offer commercial pathways for embodied AI, particularly in environments where robots need to perform physical tasks under changing conditions. The company completed four funding rounds in three months, while other Chinese embodied intelligence startups, such as XYZ Embodied AI and Manifold AI, have also attracted significant investment.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang noted that data is a core challenge in the fields of robotics and physical AI. Alexandr Wang, founder of Scale AI (now working at Meta Platforms), told SCMP that China is in a favorable position regarding data. Beijing and Shenzhen have supported government-backed "data factories" to collect robot data. For enterprises, this ranking result should not be seen as the final verdict on physical AI leadership; benchmarks can change, and real-world robot performance is not determined by a single score. Nonetheless, Spirit AI's rise indicates that physical AI is becoming increasingly competitive, and as robot models improve, new automation options may emerge in areas such as manufacturing, logistics, and autonomous machines.
