On June 9, the keel-laying ceremony was held at Hudong-Zhonghua under China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC). The vessel is powered by an efficient dual-fuel power system, combined with optimized streamlined hull design, resulting in significantly improved energy consumption and carbon emission indicators per unit of transport capacity, fully meeting the highest international maritime Tier III environmental regulations. The vessel boasts advantages such as large carrying capacity, low energy consumption, low carbon and environmental friendliness, and safety and reliability. It can dock at most mainstream LNG terminals worldwide, offering broad adaptability for long-distance shipping routes.

This vessel type is part of Qatar's mega LNG shipbuilding project involving hundreds of vessels. In the bidding for this multi-billion-dollar project, Hudong-Zhonghua secured a total of 36 shipbuilding orders, including 12 174,000 m³ large LNG carriers and 24 271,000 m³ ultra-large LNG carriers, becoming the largest contractor for the project.
