en.Wedoany.com Reported - Kellton has officially launched a large-scale digital wellhead monitoring project for Oil India Limited (OIL), India's second-largest state-owned oil and gas company. The project is built on Kellton's proprietary Optima Digital Oilfield Platform and is led by Dr. Ranjit Rath, Chairman and Managing Director of OIL. Kellton secured an implementation contract valued at approximately $2.5 million in December 2024 and completed delivery within six months.

Real-time production data from 77 production wells across 46 well pads has been integrated into the Optima platform, forming a comprehensive digital oilfield ecosystem. The deployment includes a fully integrated edge-to-cloud monitoring infrastructure, involving 482 field devices, 390 wireless and wired sensors and instruments, secure telemetry gateways, and solar power supply systems. This configuration provides enhanced production intelligence, improving operational visibility and decision-making speed, as well as management capabilities for critical field operations.

The Optima platform establishes a scalable foundation for next-generation intelligent oilfield operations, supporting AI-driven production analytics, predictive maintenance, intelligent workflow automation, integrated asset lifecycle management, and digital twin environments. With these technologies, OIL can optimize production performance, reduce operational inefficiencies, and improve asset reliability. The implementation integrates Emerson's field instrumentation technology and AWS cloud infrastructure within the broader Optima ecosystem, enabling data acquisition and analysis through the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), edge intelligence, and cloud-native architecture.

OIL stated that collaborating with organizations possessing both industry expertise and execution capabilities is crucial for its digital transformation. Kellton delivered the production monitoring platform within the scheduled timeframe, improving field operational visibility, decision quality, and operational efficiency. OIL also noted that the platform provides a scalable and future-proof foundation to support ongoing optimization and innovation initiatives for its production assets.

Ramana Palisetti, Global Director of Energy Business at Kellton, stated that Optima is specifically designed for upstream oil and gas environments, enabling operators to integrate field data, monitor production assets in real time, automate workflows, and generate predictive insights through AI-driven analytics. The platform, built on a cloud-native architecture and driven by IIoT, has been deployed by energy companies in multiple international markets, including India, the United States, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Iraq, Peru, and Ecuador.
