en.Wedoany.com Reported - Envision announced the launch of the "Mission Gobi" global initiative at VivaTech 2026 in Paris, France, planning to develop 5 gigawatts (GW) of low-carbon AI data center (AIDC) capacity in deserts and arid regions by 2030. Based on Envision's already large-scale deployed AI Power System capabilities, this initiative reflects its vision for AI-native energy infrastructure.

Against the backdrop of Europe's energy transition, energy security, and surging electricity demand, Envision CEO Lei Zhang pointed out that the artificial intelligence revolution is highlighting new structural constraints facing energy systems. Zhang stated that traditional energy systems are not designed to adapt to the scale and pace of the AI era, and Mission Gobi offers a new system-level approach that deeply integrates renewable energy, energy storage, grid infrastructure, and computing to provide scalable and cost-competitive clean energy. Based on Envision's successful collaborations in Europe, the company believes this model can help drive AI growth, energy security, and clean energy transition in Europe. Notably, Mission Gobi is designed as a replicable model; Zhang noted that even developing just 1% of the world's desert and Gobi regions could provide terawatt-scale computing power at highly competitive costs, thereby accelerating global AI infrastructure deployment.

Envision has already begun large-scale deployment of its AI Power System. In Chifeng, Inner Mongolia, China, the company operates the world's first AI-dedicated data center fully powered by green energy. In Ulanqab, the Envision Galaxy campus is under construction, which will be the world's only gigawatt-level AI data center (AIDC) directly powered by renewable energy.

As part of Mission Gobi, Envision will collaborate with governments, energy suppliers, technology companies, infrastructure investors, and local partners worldwide to accelerate the deployment of clean, intelligent, flexible, and affordable energy systems, paving the way for the intelligent era.
